About UUID version 4
A version 4 UUID is a 128-bit identifier with version and variant bits reserved by the UUID format and the remaining bits chosen at random. This tool uses the browser’s cryptographically secure random generator to create UUIDs locally. As with any random identifier, UUIDs are suitable for practical uniqueness but should not be used as access tokens or as a substitute for authorization.
Privacy
All generation happens in your browser. UUIDs are not uploaded or saved by ToolsLodge.
Frequently asked questions
Are these UUIDs generated securely?
UUIDs use your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator. Generation stops with an error if secure randomness is unavailable.
Which UUID version does this tool create?
It creates random version 4 UUIDs, formatted as lowercase hexadecimal in the standard 8-4-4-4-12 pattern.
Can I generate multiple UUIDs?
Yes. Generate up to 100 UUIDs at once, one per line, and copy the whole list with one click.
Are generated UUIDs uploaded or saved?
No. UUIDs are generated locally in your browser and are not uploaded or saved by ToolsLodge. Copying them writes to your clipboard only when you choose to copy.
